Summary
Pipavav CFS is a joint development with Contrans Logistic, a leading container logistics operator in Gujarat State, North West India. The CFS turned cash positive in 2011 for the first time since the operation was launched in 2008. Throughput was 20,200 TEUs in the year up to 31 March 2011 (2010: 19,500).
The 79-acre CFS is located 700 metres from the gates of Maersk-owned Pipavav Port, one of the fastest growing in India. A major gateway to the Northern and Western industrial regions of India, the port handles about 500,000 TEUs per annum.
Eredene is also developing an Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Gujarat State with Contrans Logistic.
